State-of-the-Art Instruments for Patient Smiles

Dental tools have evolved quite a bit over the years, and keeping up with their changes ensures we always offer stellar care! You can trust our dentists to use cutting-edge instruments to deliver fantastic results. For more details about them, read on to learn their varied and distinct features. You can also book a consultation with us and see our technology yourself!

Soft Tissue Laser

At Montague Dental, we use a soft tissue laser for certain gum procedures. This device lets us remove infected or overgrown tissue (with an intense beam of light) to treat “gummy smiles” and gum disease. It is much more gentle than traditional methods and emits almost no heat, sound, or vibration. As a result, you should remain comfortable as the laser works. You likely won’t even need to be numbed before it’s used.

Digital Impressions

Rather than use gooey putty, our office takes a more precise approach to dental impressions. We use a digital system to scan your teeth with a handheld device, capturing thousands of data points. This method lets us make “digital impressions” that we can display on a nearby monitor. Such images are more accurate, faster to create, and never require retakes. Therefore, they make your treatment results even better.

Intraoral Camera

Our team’s small intraoral camera takes live images of a patient's teeth and gums. It then shows these pictures on one of our office’s large chairside monitors. That way, both you and our dentists can take a close look at potential oral issues. This setup helps us explain areas of concern and why a given procedure is needed. You can then decide on your care with a better sense of what to expect.
